Church to Church on The Wealdway

The Wealdway is a scenic path that extends nearly 126 miles from Gravesend to Eastbourne, running across the chalk ridges of the North and South Downs. Join walk leader Alan as you walk along a level route from Hellingly Church to Chiddingly Church and back. Your start point of Hellingly is a picturesque, quaint village with a parish church dating to the 13th and 14th centuries. It is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and is the only remaining example of a church built on a Saxon ciric, a circular mound, in the county. Along the way, you will pass through a mix of landscapes, including farmland, woodland and across country lanes. You will stop at Chiddingly and have a break at the village's unique millennium memorial. Walkers may wish to refresh themselves at the nearby charming, old-fashioned pub, 'The Six Bells'. Please note there will be some stiles to navigate on this route.
