Mountains, Monuments and Maestros

You'll be rewarded on this challenging 8-mile circular walk with spectacular views from the top of Mount Caburn before continuing along the high ridge above Lewes. En route you will learn about the Lewes Martyrs and explore the Monument dedicated to them before circling round via Cliffe Hill. After taking in more magnificent views, you'll pass by the world-famous Glyndebourne Opera House before returning to your start point in Glynde.

Exact meeting point: Glynde village car park, Lacys Hill, Glynde, BN8 6SS (free parking)

Public transport to/from start point: Glynde is approximately 20 minute train journey from Eastbourne (The 9:44am service arrives 10:03am - check timetables). The start point is not the station car park but the village car park 3 minutes walk from the station.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water/refreshments. Toilet facilities can be found at the start/finish.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly.
