Explore the beauty of the South Downs with walk leader Michael who will take you from Exceat to Alfriston via Friston Forest, Folkington and the Long Man of Wilmington. This fascinating walk takes in a working forest, a 13th century church, a mysterious chalk carving and countless interesting things between Exceat and Alfriston that the South Downs Way misses out. Terrain can be a bit uneven, especially if it’s been wet and there will be a few hills and stiles to negotiate on the way. Alfriston has pubs, cafes, toilets etc and to get back to the start point – you can follow the South Downs Way (coastal route), Cuckmere Riverside path or just get the Cuckmere Valley Ramblerbus!
