Eastbourne Circular (Challenging)

This is a circular walk around the outside of Eastbourne, which starts from the pier and loops around the far edges of the town following the South Downs to Willingdon and then makes its way across to Hankham and around to Pevensey before coming back to the pier. It is a lovely walk encircling the town.

The first part of the walk on the South Downs involves a steep climb up and back down whilst the rest of the walk is relatively flat.

There are many stiles (approx. 22-25), a couple of busy roads to cross, some walking along quiet roads and potentially some cows in fields.

Walk Leader: Allison Caffyn

Approximate distance is 18 miles. Total ascent is 1457ft.

Meet at Eastbourne pier at 9am, approximate finish time is 5pm.

There will be a halfway stop at a pub but please ensure you bring plenty of refreshments for the walk.

Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a lead throughout the walk. Owners should be aware that Walk Leader's dog is wary of other dogs.

Please note this walk is not wheelchair friendly.
